FAQs
Why choose a Clinical Psychologist?
Clinical Psychologists are leaders in providing high quality and "evidence-based" therapy, aiming to reduce psychological distress and promote psychological well-being in clients.
Clinical Psychologists are always trained to doctorate level through courses that focus on both research and practice. It is a legal requirement that Clinical Psychologists register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), meaning that the title “Clinical Psychologist” ensures peace of mind that you are working with someone trained to the highest level.

Clinical Psychologists have specialist knowledge of many different treatment approaches and are trained to help people with a wide range of different problems. This means that therapy is bespoke and driven by the client, rather than trying to fit the client into a specific model.

With my knowledge, skills and experience in delivering evidence-based therapy, I can help you to:
-
better understand how your past experiences may relate to the difficulties you would like to change
-
become aware of the things that might be keeping you stuck, making things worse and stopping you from achieving your goals
-
gain a clearer understanding of difficult emotions and learn different ways of reacting to situations
-
make effective and meaningful changes in your life
-
feel more confident in coping with life's challenges

How long does therapy last?
Assessment and therapy sessions last for 60 minutes. The number of assessment and therapy sessions we have is flexible, but will partly be guided by the nature or severity of the issues that you would like help with and your goals for therapy.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes, everything we discuss is confidential. The only exception to this is if I have concerns about your safety or the safety of others, or if criminal matters are disclosed to me. In these cases I may have to break confidentiality, but I would endeavour to discuss this with you first.

How can I pay?
Payment can be made by bank transfer before the session.

Do you have any feedback from previous clients?
Yes I regularly ask clients for feedback on our work together. Here are some examples that I have permission to share.

"I was initially very nervous about therapy as I’ve always been introverted and good at concealing my emotions but the approach was so sincere and non judgemental that I felt very surprisingly comfortable opening up. Not only did the sessions help me through traumas but I also gained self-awareness and acceptance in other areas that I didn’t even think needed attention".
"I had sessions with Siobhan on and off for about 2 years in total. Her support was incredibly helpful through some really challenging personal circumstances, as well as in navigating the collective challenges of the pandemic. It made a real difference to be able to speak to someone who is highly skilled and always professional, whilst also being able create a compassionate space where I felt I could be open and honest about my experiences and the changes that I wanted in my life".

"Siobhan helped me process a difficult time in my life in which I was facing a lot of personal change and struggling to deal with the challenges it presented me. She did so with a smile and a kindly but always professional approach which made me comfortable in expressing my issues to her candidly and in an environment where I feel safe and never judged."
